Brendan Fraser Tears Up Knowing the Internet Is Cheering for Him
The Brenaissance is alive and well
Published Aug 11, 2021As news of Brendan Fraser's involvement in several big-name film projects — including Martin Scorsese's incredibly stacked Killers of the Flower Moon and Darren Aronofsky's The Whale — has surfaced, the once-elusive actor is now seeing what the internet has dubbed the "Brenaissance," and the man himself couldn't be more elated.
In a recent meet-and-greet with a cosplayer fan who goes by Lindley Key, Fraser teared up at hearing how delighted his fans are to see him working on larger projects again.
"The internet is so behind you! We're so supportive," Key said to Fraser. "There are so many people out there who love you, and we're rooting for you, and we can't wait to see what you do next."
The actor got choked up and responded, "Shucks, ma'am," while tipping his hat to Key.
Fraser also admitted to being nervous about acting alongside Scorsese's stellar cast, which includes heavy-hitters like Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Sturgill Simpson and Jason Isbel, as well as John Lithgow, whose involvement was revealed yesterday (August 10).
Meanwhile, Key's TikTok has exploded to 40-thousand-plus followers. As the fan notes in a follow-up video, she set up the meet-and-greet through GalaxyCon Live. She explained that she was able to speak to Fraser for two minutes in the meet-and-greet, which she attended in Evelyn O'Connell cosplay.
"The first thing he said to me when he saw what I was wearing was, 'Evelyn, the years have done you well!' And I died," Key added.
