Billie Eilish has shared the self-directed video for her melancholic Barbie song "What Was I Made For?," which finds the pop star at a desk in a Barbie-esque wig as she pulls out doll-sized costumes from a box. Eventually, Eilish is struck by a torrent of wind and rain.

"What Was I Made For?" was written and recorded by Eilish and her brother and regular collaborator FINNEAS. The song is described as "the sonic background for pivotal scenes throughout the film," and it finds Eilish in a sombre, piano-driven mode.

In a statement about making the song and video, Eilish told her fans, "to be real with you this all seemed to happen in a time when i really needed it. i'm so so thankful for that."

Barbie the Album is being released on July 21 alongside the film. We've already heard Dua Lipa's "Dance the Night," Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice's "Barbie World (with Aqua)," Charli XCX's "Speed Drive," Pinkpantheress's "Angel," FIFTY FIFTY's "Barbie Dreams" and Karol G's "WATATI."
