It may be the first Scream instalment without the franchise's iconic final girl Neve Campbell, but Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are giving it their all anyway in the teaser trailer for Scream VI, which will slash its way into theatres on March 10, 2023.
In just shy of one minute, the teaser gives us the return of Melissa Barrera (who recently told Collider that the sixth film is 100 times gorier than any of the previous movies), Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding, who all made their Scream debuts in this year's instalment. We also get Ghostface, who's made the trip to New York City to stalk Ortega's Tara Carpenter on the subway. What a scamp!
A synopsis for the film reads:
Following the latest Ghostface killings, the four survivors leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter. In Scream VI, Melissa Barrera ("Sam Carpenter"), Jasmin Savoy Brown ("Mindy Meeks-Martin"), Mason Gooding ("Chad Meeks-Martin"), Jenna Ortega ("Tara Carpenter"), Hayden Panettiere ("Kirby Reed") and Courteney Cox ("Gale Weathers") return to their roles in the franchise alongside Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra and Samara Weaving.
