The "Weird Al" renaissance — not to be confused with Beyoncé's, which officially commences tonight — continues with the announcement of Lights, Camera, Accordion!, a new photo book that collects over 300 photos of Yankovic taken by his longtime drummer and photographer Jon "Bermuda" Schwartz.
Arriving November 15 on 1984 Publishing, the 256-page photo book will be sold as a stand-alone hardcover volume and as part of a limited-edition box set with exclusive artwork, prints, postcards and more. Only 350 copies of the box set will be produced.
Schwartz has taken over 20,000 35mm photos of Yankovic in the four-decades-and-change that he's been drumming with the comedian/musician, and he's transferred many of them from the original negatives for Lights, Camera, Accordion! The photos include rare, behind-the-scenes moments from the sets for videos like "Amish Paradise," "Like a Surgeon," "Gump," "Smells Like Nirvana," "The Saga Begins" and more.
"It's been another wonderful trip down memory lane for me, this time in living colour," Schwartz said in a statement. "We're currently on a six-month, 125+ date tour and I've been sharing the book's progress with Al and the band, and they're as excited about it as I am! The fans have been very loyal to us for the last 40 years, and I know they'll enjoy this book as much as I've enjoyed putting it together."
And because there's always more "Weird Al" to go around lately, you can also delve further into his mythology with the Daniel Radcliffe-starring biopic Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, which is arriving November 4.
