Daniel Radcliffe's "Weird Al" Yankovic Is Here and He's Jacked as Hell

The yassification of Weird Al is upon us in the first official trailer for 'Weird: The Al Yankovic Story'

It was announced earlier this year that Daniel Radcliffe (who played some guy named Harry Potter) would be portraying musical-comedy and hair icon "Weird Al" Yankovic in the upcoming biopic Weird: The Al Yankovic Story

When actors take on biopic roles, there's often a certain degree of artistic liberty involved — hello, Viola Davis as Michelle Obama — and Radcliffe's creative interpretation of Yankovic apparently includes an absolutely slammin' body. Was Yankovic secretly stacked and no one knew? Is this gonna end up being some sort of bit in the film? How accurate are the leather pants? Is everyone about to get horny (more so than we already are) for Weird Al?

The trailer doesn't necessarily answer these questions, but it does give us the first real taste of Weird, which looks like it'll be a parodic interpretation (makes sense) of the glitzy, big-tent biopic of late.

Besides the guns, Radcliffe's interpretation definitely recalls the Weird Al we all know, with little mustache, perm and voice all intact. The trailer features a shirtless Yankovic and his band playing "Like a Surgeon" — Evan Rachel Wood is set to appear as Madonna — and gives us a montage of his climb to comedy fame, which looks to include some breakdancing, bar fighting and machete wielding. As Weird Al says in his tweet promoting the trailer, "Get psyched."
