The untitled ceramic vase that Seth Rogen contributed to the Vancouver Art Gallery's first-ever fundraising auction has officially sold to an unknown buyer for $15,000.

The signed item, which was listed through the Heffel Fine Art Auction House, was first posted up for auction in early June. The bidding began at $3,000, but after a fierce war online, one buyer was able to snatch the item for five times its original listing price.

An excerpt from a description of the object reads:

Rogen uses glaze sculpturally to build up the surfaces of his vases to strange and sometimes humorous effect. Their bumpy exteriors call to mind everything from coral formations and candy confections to — as one journalist has suggested — the Flintstones or the Jetsons.

A spokesperson for the VAG told TMZ that the sale "will support public programs and exhibitions."

As previously reported, Rogen's contribution to the VAG was positioned as "an opportunity to not only support the Gallery's mission but also to add a stunning piece of art to your personal collection."
