Happy birthday to everyone's favourite Hawaiian organ donor! Based on the birthday listed on McLovin's fake ID from the 2007 movie Superbad, today would have been the mononymous character's 40th birthday.
Seth Rogen, who co-wrote the film and plays a supporting role, pointed out the birthday on Twitter. He shared an image of the fake ID and reminded everyone that he was just 14 years old when he first came up with the joke (although it wasn't until his mid-20s that he got to take the joke to the bigscreen).
McLovin is, of course, the pseudonym of the Superbad character Fogell, who was played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse. In real life, Mintz-Plasse is turning 32 in a couple of weeks. That huge age discrepancy, of course, is all part of Fogell's masterplan.
As he tells Jonah Hill's character in the film, "Every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with their fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called fucking strategy, all right?"
It won't be until next April that fans can wish the 39-year-old Rogen a happy 40th.
