Mike Myers Teases a Fourth 'Austin Powers' Movie

"I can neither confirm nor deny the existence or non-existence of such a project, should it exist or not exist"

It's been five years since Mike Myers said that he "would love to do" another Austin Powers movie — and now it seems like the shagadelic possibility may actually have legs.

In a new interview with SiriusXM's Jess Cagle, the actor hinted that an opportunity to don the plush velvet suits and frilly ascots of the titular spy for the fourth time could be in the works.

"I can neither confirm nor deny the existence or non-existence of such a project, should it exist or not exist," Myers teased coyly.

In response, Cagle's co-host Julia Cunningham probed: "It feels like 'yes,' I'm sorry. It feels like you want to say yes."

Cagle chimed in: "It feels like a confirmation that it's gonna be announced," further goading the International Man of Mystery to perhaps be a little less mysterious.

Myers offered a pseudo-clarification in the form of joking that it was "a non-confirmed confirmation confirmation." Oh, behave!

Back in 2017, when celebrating the 20th anniversary of the debut film in the franchise (which was followed by Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me in 1999 and Austin Powers in Goldmember in 2002), the actor and director Jay Roach revealed that they had been thinking about making a fourth instalment for 15 years.

"Until Mike feels like he has a concept that earns a fourth, it won't happen," Roach said at the time. "But if it did, we have all agreed that we would be delighted to get back into it."

Myers continued skittering the ultimate death chair button the following year when he brought back Dr. Evil on The Tonight Show. As the 20th anniversary of Goldmember approaches, we would appreciate it if the actor threw us a frickin' bone here.
