The first teaser trailer for Amazon's new A League of Their Own reboot series — helmed by Broad City's Abbi Jacobson and Will Graham — has arrived.
The teaser is a brief, 30-second supercut soundtracked by Stevie Nicks' "Edge of Seventeen," and it features a glimpse of Jacobson, Kate Berlant, Chanté Adams, D'Arcy Carden and Nick Offerman.
Based on the Madonna-starring 1992 film of the same name, the eight-episode series is set to premiere on August 12. The series' official synopsis reads:
A League of Their Own evokes the joyful spirit of Penny Marshall's beloved classic, while widening the lens to tell the story of an entire generation of women who dreamed of playing professional baseball. The show takes a deeper look at race and sexuality, following the journey of a whole new ensemble of characters as they carve their own paths towards the field, both in the League and outside of it.
