It's been a whirlwind year for X front-woman Exene Cervenka. In June, the 53-year-old was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, but despite that unnerving announcement, she pressed on and released a new solo album, Somewhere Gone, in October. After that, she re-teamed with X band-mate and former husband John Doe to record some Christmas standards. Now, she's revealed that a new X album could be on the way.
Punknews points to an interview with the Sacramento Press, where Cervenka made the following statement:
I think the only hang-up is that John and I just haven't made time to stay at each other's house for a week and write songs together, or go spend the day in downtown Los Angeles, hanging out... I would love to [make a record with X] at this late stage in the game because it would prove something to me that I've always wanted to prove. I've always wanted to prove a lot of things to myself, but one of those things is that artists don't always suck as they get older.
She went on to say that her and Doe "have every intention" of writing new music. She's also keeping busy with a new band called California Mothership.
