WTF: Cher and Future Team Up for Gap Commercial

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Sep 13, 2017

In an unexpected collaborative twist, Cher and Future have teamed up for a duet.

The unlikely pair have recorded a version of Sly and the Family Stone classic "Everyday People," and will appear onscreen serenading each other in a new ad for Gap.

Outfitted in denim and sitting on steps that lead to nowhere in the middle of a minimalist white set, the duo bond over their shared love of Auto-Tune. It's a far cry from Cher and Future's best known duets with Sonny Bono and Drake, respectively, but worth a watch — if only for the sheer oddity of it all.

The commercial was directed by Toronto's Director X, known for high-profile music videos like 2015's ubiquitous "Hotline Bling."

It's not Future's first foray into the world of Gap Inc., either. His son with singer Ciara, Zahir Future, landed a modelling campaign with the retailer earlier this year.
