The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die Announce LP for Epitaph

Published Aug 10, 2015
Self-described "post-emo" ensemble The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die have a large and constantly changing roster. Now, the latest incarnation of the Connecticut group are ready to release their second full-length. Harmlessness will be out on September 25 through Epitaph.
The album is the follow-up to 2013's Whatever, If Ever. The title of Harmlessness is a nod to the group's first-ever EP, 2010's Formlessness.
The 13-song tracklist is below. At the bottom of the page, check out a video for the spaciously produced anthem "January 10th, 2014" [via NPR] The video depicts women exacting revenge against a murderous man, and this storyline is in keeping with the theme of the song. Vocalist David Bello explained the song with the following statement:
"January 10th, 2014" is a song about retaliation against predators. The character in the song, Diana, is based on the story of a woman from Ciudad Juarez, Mexico who avenged unprosecuted and largely ignored sexual assaults being committed by bus drivers on their routes. The video replaces the real life Diana with Dianic Wiccans who protect themselves using hexes and their own spirituality. The male character in the video is a predator, and therefore must be destroyed.
The album can be pre-ordered on double-vinyl, CD or tape right here. Digital copies can be ordered on iTunes.
