Wolves in the Throne Room Remix Mount Eerie for New 7-Inch

While today marks the release of new Mount Eerie live LP (after), Phil Elverum has now announced remixes of his own work done by black metallers Wolves In the Throne Room.

The metal outfit has remixed Elverum's "The Mouth of Sky" and "Lost Wisdom Pt. 2," both of which come from Mount Eerie's 2009 LP Wind's Poem.

As Elverum writes in a description, the two "raw and unmixed" tracks were digitally transferred from the original analog masters at the metal band's studio near Olympia, Washington.

The description explains that "The Mouth of Sky" remix was "created using techniques inspired by Lee 'Scratch' Perry. In this case, the original tracks were routed to a variety of analog and digital FX units via the faders on the studio's Harrison PP1 console. The mix was performed in real time."

"A single vocal track from 'Lost Wisdom; was layered with newly recorded digital synths and a heavy bass from a vintage Korg MS-20," he writes of the second remix. "Wisps of the original organ and guitar appear in a heavily processed form."

The pair of tracks have been pressed up as a 7-inch picture disc, in an edition of 1000 copies, which can now be preordered through Elverum's online store.

Wolves In the Throne Room released their Thrice Woven LP late last year. They're set to head out on tour with Behemoth and At the Gates next month.
