Montreal's Winter Gloves managed to score a coveted 11 p.m. slot at the always-packed Horseshoe and the quartet took full advantage. Tearing into a set of synth-driven indie rock, the band played with a tight professionalism that belied their young ages. The crowd responded in turn as the bar was transformed into a sweat box -- their lead-singer miraculously not passing out while keeping his sweater on throughout -- and a slew of girls flooded the front of the stage. It's clear that this is a band who thrive on stage as their energy ramped up with each new song, matched only by the enthusiasm of their audience.
