Decades into his musical career, founding former member of Old Crow Medicine Show, Willie Watson, has shared plans for his debut solo album, arriving September 13 via Little Operation Records and More (Thirty Tigers).

"After 30 years of playing music professionally — this is my debut album," Watson shared in a release. "This record is me beating the devil, or the story of what finally did it anyway. I didn't make any specific pact or anything but I know we've been tangled up most of my life. Now that he's gone I can love myself again."

The self-titled effort is previewed today by lead single "Real Love," which Watson says he wrote for his wife, Mindy. The song comes with a music video by Joseph Wasilewski that sees the couple slow dancing through significant places in their relationship.

"It kinda turned out to be the story of my life and it's clear now that she's standing in the center of everything," he said of the song. "We've been looking for each other for a long time and now we can't even remember all the struggle it took to get here."

Later this month, Watson will embark on a North American tour that will keep him busy until mid-December. The lengthy trek includes two Canadian dates: August 23 at Victoria's Orillia Street Music Hall and November 9 at Vancouver's Biltmore. Most tickets go on sale this Friday, June 21, at 10 a.m. local time.
