Summer is nearly over, and that can only mean one thing: it's nearly time for Weezer's next SZNZ EP. Autumn is out on September 22, and frontman Rivers Cuomo has shared a teaser for the project while also admitting that the EP might be "something that nobody likes."
Speaking with The New York Times, Cuomo discussed Autumn's dance rock style, which he has previously compared to Franz Ferdinand and the Strokes.
He said, "Autumn is dance rock, which is not something we've traditionally been able to get away with. It's really hard to make it both dance and rock and Weezer. It's very easy for that to turn into something that nobody likes."
Meanwhile, Weezer posted a short teaser on Twitter, containing a 10-second clip of new music. It features a swinging low-end chug, which frankly sounds more like Tame Impala's "Elephant" than dance rock.
