Earlier this month, Weezer bassist Scott Shriner's wife Jillian Shriner (a.k.a. author Jillian Lauren) was shot during an altercation with police and booked for attempted murder. Now, more details about the incident have come to light, including one strange detail: Jillian Shriner was wearing a Weezer shirt during the incident.
Over the weekend, the Los Angeles Police Department released footage from the incident on April 8, including security videos and body cam footage. It shows police pursuing a hit-and-run suspect through a residential neighbourhood, and Jillian Shriner leaving her house carrying a gun and wearing a shirt with Weezer's unmistakable =w= logo.
While the angles of the security cameras make it difficult to see everything that takes place, the police representative says, "The officers gave Shriner repeated verbal commands to drop the handgun. However, she did not comply. Moments later, Shriner racked the handgun, pointed it at the officers and fired, resulting in an officer-involved shooting."
Footage of the incident can be seen below. While it involves a violent altercation, it's not graphic. This will certainly make for an interesting chapter in the Weezer movie.
