If you're going to play sloppy, play fast. Starting with a misfire, punk threesome Magic Cheezies burned through a straight-ahead and at times messy set. Nevertheless, a jagged guitar suited the rough sound well and the balls-out approach compensated for most growing pains. More crunchy than puffy, the band created an unrelenting wall of sound, supplicated with an old-school punk aesthetic and the growling and rapid-fire cadence to match. Despite technical gaffes, the set's freneticism kept it fun.
