Babies having babies evidently beget clean-cut experimental bands with affinities for saxophones. Young Mother may look like Vampire Weekend but they play like a fractured kaleidoscope. In a one-long-song set, the five-piece - including two saxophones - started with a masturbatory, standoffish noise session that thankfully evolved into a cohesive, dark cut with vague hints of Bauhaus and David Byrne. Though at times cloying, the band brims with potential. And it's about time that saxophones turned up outside of an E Street Band gig.
