Weezer performed a mini acoustic concert at the picket line outside Paramount Studios for the striking writers yesterday (May 17). The band played a three-song set of "Buddy Holly," "Beverly Hills," and "Island in the Sun" to show their solidarity with the WGA. See the video captured by TMZ below.
"We wanted to try to support you guys and do something fun since you're standing out here all day," said bassist Scott Shriner to someone in the crowd.
The writers have been on strike demanding fairer contacts amid pay cuts, while the streaming services they work for rake unprecedented profit.
Weezer aren't the only ones to show their support for the writers: Imagine Dragons played a set outside of Netflix headquarters last week, and Pete Davidson was spotted handing out pizzas on the picket line earlier this month.
This comes ahead of Weezer's extensive summer tour with Modest Mouse, Spoon and others starting next month. Catch them in Toronto on July 4.
