Artists around the globe have been making a leap into livestreaming due to the coronavirus pandemic, and Reuben and the Dark invited fans to get in on the music-making during a recent Instagram Live session.
From his living room, frontman Reuben Bullock sang "Hold Me Like a Fire" — a fan favourite that invites concertgoers to join him onstage during live dates. Of course, that's pretty hard to do these days, but fans soon flooded Bullock's inbox with videos of them singing along from the comfort of their own homes.
With filmmaker Kaelen Ohm, Bullock has now cut the fan-shot clips together to create a mass virtual "Social Distancing Choir" that you can watch him perform with below.
"It's just an attempt to remind people we are all still connected," Bullock explained. "People at home are more than just comments on a cell phone screen.. This was an impromptu idea that started during an Instagram live performance. People need a sense of togetherness right now."
Reuben and the Dark had recently been touring behind last year's un | love album.
