Watch Jack Black and a Pre-Teen Band Crush a Cover of Ozzy Osbourne's "Mr. Crowley"

The performance came as part of Tom Morello's mother's 100th birthday

It's no wonder Jack Black has considered making a School of Rock sequel, as he continues to show young people the power of music and sticking it to the man. Now, the actor and Tenacious D player has added a new cover to his rocking repertoire in Ozzy Osbourne's "Mr. Crowley."

Bear with me, as this sounds like a game of pop-culture Mad Libs: Black's performance fronting a band of pre-teens was part of 100th birthday celebrations for Mary Morello, mother of Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello. The group featured Morello's son Roman on guitar, Japanese drumming prodigy Yoyoka, bassist Roya Feiz on bass and Hugo Weiss on keyboard.

Remembering his recent takes on Rush and Chris Isaak classics, Black is a perfect fit for Ozzy's tribute to the British occultist, while Roman Morello has evidently put in the hours of practice required to shred guitar solos written by the late Randy Rhoads — clearly a favourite of the family with Tom Morello having previously contributed to a Rhoads tribute album in 2015.

"Mary Morello's 100th bday celebration featured a stirring rendition of @ozzyosbourne & #RandyRhoads 'Mr. Crowley' performed by @jackblack and a kick ass band of 12 & 13 year olds!" wrote Morello in sharing a clip on Instagram, adding, "Mary was pleased!"

In May, Black and his Tenacious D bandmate Kyle Gass returned with their first new song in five years. This week, it was revealed that Black had written a "foreblurb" for Eric Andre's new book.
