In addition to showcasing the skills of their own well-seasoned lineup, hip-hop and rock supergroup Prophets of Rage managed to make their debut performance in Toronto even more special by bringing out Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl for a song. Together, they performed a cover of Motor City proto punk unit MC5's signature "Kick Out the Jams."

Grohl joined the group near the end of their show tonight (August 24) at Molson Canadian Amphitheatre. Rapper B-Real told the audience that they were going to "flip the fuck out" over the big surprise Prophets of Rage had in store for them, which led guitarist Tom Morello to introducing Grohl on stage.

Following cheers from the crowd, Grohl screamed out the MC5 track's familiar intro of "kick out the jams, motherfucker," and the band played a fairly faithful version of the rock track. That said, a breakdown in the middle of the song found Chuck D rapping a bit of his old Public Enemy song, "Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos."

Prophet of Rage's full set was streamed live tonight through Facebook, and the concert can also be seen in full via the player below. Grohl's appearance comes up around 2:03:00.

As previously reported, Prophet of Rage's The Party's Over EP will be released on Friday (August 26).
