Wale

"The Chess Match"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Dec 22, 2014

Last week, Wale promised us a new mixtape to celebrate the Festivus, and now the Seinfeld-obsessed rapper has delivered "The Chess Match" on the eve of the new tape's release.

Clocking in at just over a minute, the track opens with Jerry Seinfeld's classic sitcom character getting metaphorical about life and chessboards before Wale crashes in with a verse.

Waxing poetic about racial tension, Wale's rhymes aren't as lighthearted or comical as you may have expected from a Seinfeld-inspired track, but still definitely worth a spin.

Festivus drops tomorrow (December 23) via Complex, but you can listen to "The Chess Match" below right now.
