Edmonton dream pop band Verttigo have shared their debut single alongside an accompanying music video. "Autumn" is the lead single from the group's album arriving this year.
With light synths and hazy guitar, Verttigo embrace the darkness in black clothes and dark makeup, complementing lead singer K A R Í M A H's eerie vocals. In a press release, the band said, "We are in a constant spiral of Love, Death, Loss & Rebirth. Living in Verttigo."
Their goth aesthetic is showcased in the "Autumn" music video as well. Filmed at the Black Lodge — a nearly century-old cabin turned art space that has since closed — art director Quin Enright captures Verttigo with their dark look and gloomy eyes surrounded by animal skulls, candles and smoke to give the video a sinister feel. Watch that below.
Verttigo made their live debut at Edmonton's Purple City Music Festival last year, and have since performed at Winterruption YEG. They'll play Edmonton again this March at Cherry Cult Fest and can be seen in Vancouver this May at Verboden Festival.
