He staged a successful Escape from Planet Devours, and now Vancouver synthpop explorer Devours is coming back to Earth for Homecoming Queen. It's out May 9 via the artist's own label, surviving the game.

This album follows 2021's Escape from Planet Devours, as well as 2022's Crossface Chicken Wing (which came out under the ambient alias the Golden Age of Wrestling). An announcement explains, "My last album was about crashing and burning in my 30s, and Homecoming Queen is about picking up the pieces and starting over. The album is about life transitions, uncertain futures, and searching for purpose in adulthood as a single, childless gay artist." It will be released digitally and on vinyl.

The 10-song tracklist is below, along with an enigmatic slo-mo video for the dreamy synthpop banger "Jacuzzi My Stonewall," directed by Devours and Medusa Wyatt. Prior single "The Widow" appears here as the closing track.

Devours will celebrate the release of Homecoming Queen with a hometown show at the Biltmore Cabaret on May 18, featuring openers Non La and Grimm. Album pre-orders are available on Bandcamp.
