Purple City Music Festival will return to Downtown Edmonton from September 5 to 7 this year, and organizers have unveiled the first wave of the 2025 lineup.
This year's festivities will include performances by Wand, L.A. WITCH, the Mystery Lights, D.O.A., Babe Haven, Marie Davidson, FREYA (featuring members of Earth Crisis), Acid Tongue, Kontravoid, UNIITY, Taleen Kali, NUXX, Night Ritualz and Meldamor, as well as local legends Faunts and the James T. Kirks, and fellow Canadians Devours, WAIT//LESS, Shiv and the Carvers, and Slash Need.
UPDATE (7/17, 2:06 p.m. ET): Purple City organizers have announced the festival's second wave lineup, including Magic Shoppe, Jehovas Princess, DVTR, Hallows, Clone, BÖNDBREAKR, Bonnie Trash, Whitey Houston, False Body, Real Sickies, Colleen Brown and Amy Van Keeken, the Bobby Tenderloin Experience, Field + Stream, Kue Varo & the Only Hopes, the Blue, Dial Up and Brock Geiger.
Venues include the Starlite Room, Temple Stage, McDougall United Church, the Downtown Edmonton Community League (DECL), two stages at The Y After Hours and both floors of the Freemasons Hall of Edmonton.
In addition to music, Purple City will once again host Talk City, a free music industry conference featuring panels — including "DIY & Punk Ethos: Past Present & Future" led by Joe Keithley of D.O.A. — workshops and networking opportunities. Saturday and Sunday will offer more free programming, taking place at the outdoor stage and block party, with live wrestling running from 2 to 8 p.m.
