Uniform

Black and Vain

BY Stuart GreenPublished Feb 1, 2002

After a string of seven-inch releases and splits, this scrappy trio showcases its talents on their first full-length release on the adventurous Morphius label, based out of Baltimore. With nods to Sonic Youth, Iggy and the Stooges and angular mid-'80s DC post punk noise core, the Uniform delivers 11 searing and sneering progressive garage rock attacks that brim with angst. The glorious clatter is rarely predictable or safe, and in that way it's just like a good old school punk record should be.
