Vancouver's Unfun have been doling out gravel-throated pop punk for a few years now, and the band are back with a new four-song EP called Caroline. The mini-collection is anchored by the eight-minute title track, which slops grimy distortion and in-the-red microphone levels atop cheery melodi-punk leads. There's a faux-ending around the six-minute mark, but the band gleefully bashes back into a proper fuzzy finale.
The remaining three tracks keep things more bite-sized, but keep up the group's passion of mixing sludge-punk production values with Jawbreaker-style melodies.
You can stream the whole thing below, but keep an eye out for a vinyl release of the collection sometime soon via New York's Dead Broke Rekords.
