Danish producer Anders Trentemoller spent much of 2005 raising an enviable shitstorm with a string of strong singles and remixes. Tracks "Chameleon," "Sunstroke" and the Richard Davis collaboration "Always Something Better" were meticulously constructed, fully realised club tracks that eschewed the conventional wisdom of minimalism. For his debut album, Trentemoller has opted to open up his palette even further, stretching out into atmospheric dub and down-tempo, as well as the darkly textured house and techno he's already known for. Three previously released works have found their way onto The Last Resort, and they blend in nicely as highlights for an otherwise subdued album. The limited edition version of this album also comes with a bonus disc collecting all the tracks featured on the early singles.
