Eleven million Canadians tuned in to watch the Tragically Hip's final show through a national broadcast on CBC, but if you didn't make it to a date on their "Man Machine Poem" tour due to scalpers, bots or otherwise, a documentary on the cross-country trek will help you relive the run next year.

Currently under the working title Man Machine Poem, the documentary will be a collaborative effort between Bell Media and Banger Films. Canadian Press reports that producers say they have hundreds of hours of footage from the tour to work with. Directors Jennifer Baichwal and Nicholas de Pencier have also been named to the project.

The sold-out summer tour followed frontman Gord Downie's diagnosis with terminal brain cancer earlier this year. He has since followed up the Hip shows with his newly released Secret Path album, out now via Arts & Crafts
