Last week, UK combo Toy offered up a video for the shoegazey "Lose My Way," off their impending self-titled debut. The group are showing us another side of themselves this week, though, via an extended dance mix of new tune "Dead & Gone," courtesy of English DJ Andrew Weatherall.
The track technically doesn't play much longer than the guitar-strewn original, but Weatherall's treatment makes the number a bit more atmospheric. Organic percussion has been swapped out for an icy, motorik clap, singer-guitarist Tom Dougall's spacey vocals appear to have been scrubbed entirely, and analogue synths smuggled out of Gary Numan's The Pleasure Principle museum filter back and forth between the speakers.
