Tool drummer Danny Carey was arrested last night at Kansas City International Airport for alleged misdemeanour assault.
TMZ reports that airport police responded to a report of a disturbance between two men Sunday night (December 12). Carey was arrested and taken to a police department, where he was booked for misdemeanour assault, but is no longer in custody after being released on bond.
Carey, who grew up in Kansas, returned to his home state this weekend to perform alongside the University of Kansas marching band Saturday (December 11) at a college basketball game between the Missouri Tigers and the Kansas Jayhawks. You can find footage of Carey and the band playing a cover of the Jimi Hendrix Experience's "Fire" below.
Last weekend, Carey took part in an all-star jam with members of Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Queens of the Stone Age. Unfortunately, Canadian fans won't get to witness his drumming in the country on Tool's 2022 tour.
Last year, Carey drummed on a 22-minute song from Daniel Romano's Outfit.
