Tom Waits, Keith Richards, Broken Social Scene, Iggy Pop, Courtney Love Contribute to 'Son of Rogues Gallery' Comp

Back in 2006, actor Johnny Depp, Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski and producer Hal Willner gathered up a cast of musicians to tackle sea chanteys on the Rogues Gallery compilation, and it's now been revealed that Captain Jack Sparrow and his pals are bringing us another instalment. It's fittingly titled Son of Rogues Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs and Chanteys, and it will hit retailers February 19 through Anti-.

Like the first edition, which included performances from the likes of Lou Reed, Nick Cave and Bono, the upcoming two-disc offering is also a star-studded affair. As Pitchfork reveals, this time around, you'll find a collaboration between Tom Waits and Depp's onscreen pirate pappy Keith Richards, a tag-team track from Depp and punk poet Patti Smith, and a shared song from Courtney Love and former R.E.M. vocalist Michael Stipe.

Other guests set to appear include Iggy Pop with A Hawk and a Hacksaw, Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, Marianne Faithfull, Swans' Michael Gira, Beth Orton, Sean Lennon, Big Freedia, Broken Social Scene, Antony Hegarty, and many more.

While we're a few months off from the mighty 37-song set's release, you can catch a preview of the platter via a stream of the Pogues' Shane MacGowan, Depp and Verbinski's attempt at "Leaving of Liverpool" down below.
