Keeping with the spirit of their music, the Tijuana Bibles have released their three-song EP on a 45. The three songs were "recorded on Saturday night," with a few bottles of very musky, smoky mescal no doubt. The Bibles pay homage to the early '60s instrumental bands like the Ventures and Hal Blaine's Young Cougars, with their own guitar riffs surfing bad-ass heat waves in a spaghetti Western. There is nothing new here, but the music is so authentic to that bygone era, it kind of underscores what rock'n'roll, booze and getting down and dirty with yer dirty lady is all about. That the band is from Toronto proves we really do live in a global village. Really good fun and probably even better live in a bar.
