R&B adventurists THEESatisfaction will have you exploring their EarthEE LP in just over a month's time, but you can get acquainted with their talents in a new, salutatory video for its "Recognition" right now.
Directed by Tiona McClodden, the video finds THEESatisfaction surrounding themselves with musicians like Columbia Nights, audio-visual experimenter Rucyl Mills, artists Akeema Zane, Tee Fergus and more. They also visit the homes of John Coltrane and Sun-Ra, giving credit where it's due to generations of hard-working African-American artists. "No work goes without recognition," they sing above sublime synths and a rumbling rhythm.
The video closes with inspirational words by artist/designer Xenobia Bailey. You can see it all down below.
EarthEE arrives February 24 through Sub Pop.
Tour dates:
02/26 Seattle, WA - Neumos
02/28 Los Angeles, CA - Jewel's Catch One
03/06 New York, NY - Santo's Party House
