Surprise! The National have announced the follow-up to this spring's First Two Pages of Frankenstein, and it's arriving very soon. Laugh Track arrives this Monday (September 18) on 4AD.

The band announced the album from the stage at their Homecoming festival in Cincinnati, OH, Stereogum reports. Some fans at Homecoming were able to buy signed vinyl copies of the album, according to posts on Reddit.

The National have been hinting at this album since January, when they initially announced First Two Pages of Frankenstein. At that time, they noted that their Bon Iver-featuring 2022 single "Weird Goodbyes" wasn't on First Two Pages Frankenstein, but that the song was "also part of something very special," since the band had "made a mountain of music we love."

Since that time, they have shared the singles "Alphabet City" and "Space Invader."
