Joining a growing list of performers, the Mountain Goats' John Darnielle has revealed that he contracted COVID-19 — likely as the group had been wrapping up their fall/winter tour in North Carolina — and now, he has generously delivered a sort-of song about it.

Despite feeling a tad under the weather, the musician has shared a four-minute half-song, half-spoken word piece, urging everyone to get tested if they can — especially if they attended a Mountain Goats show recently.

"Well if you noticed / That my voice / Doesn't sound / Like its usual self / That's because I've got COVID-19," Darnielle sings in the intro. He goes on to say-sing that he's "not gonna die," and not to worry about him. "I'm vaxxed up and maxxed up," he said.

If you have COVID this holiday season — or if your plans got ruined because of Omicron, give Darnielle's coronacore jingle a listen below. It might just lift your holiday spirit.
