Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots turned 20 this year, and the Flaming Lips are celebrating their seminal 2002 record's milestone by plotting a massive reissue, which is due via Warner on November 25 on CD and on April 14, 2023, on vinyl.
Compiling B-sides, demos, remixes, radio sessions, two live albums and rarities, the 6CD set contains more than 50 unreleased tracks, all of which will also be released on digital, and on vinyl in a separate collection, next year. The initial 5LP release will contain 30 unreleased songs.
Additionally, the Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell and Fight Test EPs will make their way to vinyl for the first time ever, arriving sometime next spring.
The band have mapped out two anniversary performances next year: one in London on April 28 and another in Washington, DC on May 25. So far, they have yet to announce any Canadian dates in celebration of Yoshimi.
