The Decemberists announced they were outright cancelling their rescheduled 2020 North American tour last week, and now they've followed the bad news up with something a little cheerier: the band have scheduled three nights of livestream concerts next month to celebrate their 20th — uh, now 21st — anniversary.
Taking place on April 11, 18 and 25 at 8 p.m. ET, the Decemberists have promised three special shows each with their own unique setlist. Ticket packages include single-day tickets and a "series pass" option, as well as multiple merchandise bundles.
"You'll be able to ask the band your burning questions AND be privy to three extra songs we'll have performed just for you," the band wrote in a tweet. "The shows will be available to stream on-demand for two weeks following the events."
As for their return to in-person concerts, Colin Meloy and co. shared that they plan to make it up to fans (hopefully) in 2022.
"We plan on touring next summer; whether that will be in the vein of a similar tour or something new altogether, it's too soon to say. We promise to be out there again, seeing all your shining, singing faces — covered or uncovered," they said in an announcement.
