It's been 40 years now since beloved rock outfit the Band took their final bow at their The Last Waltz concert in San Francisco, so the iconic performance is being celebrated with a series of deluxe anniversary releases. Multiple packages supporting the Band and their Martin Scorsese-directed concert film arrive this fall via Rhino Records.
Due on November 11 is a newly remastered, two-disc 40th anniversary edition of The Last Waltz, which culls highlights from the performance captured on November 25, 1976. That same day, an extended Deluxe Edition release adds a couple of discs that comprise all of the audio captured at San Francisco's Winterland Ballroom, this including various rehearsals and outtakes. A vinyl edition, placing the collection on 180-gram vinyl for the first time, lands on November 11 as well.
If that's still not enough, on December 9, a 40th Anniversary Collector's Edition brings together four discs of audio, Scorsese's The Last Waltz concert film on Blu-ray, and a second Blu-ray disc featuring a rare, '90s-era interview with the director and Band guitarist Robbie Robertson, a photo gallery, and a 5.1 surround mix of the original album release. This version also comes as a 300-page, faux-leather bound book that includes photos, a shooting script and more.
In addition to showcasing the talents of the Band one last time, the all-star Last Waltz featured onstage guest appearances from the likes of Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Paul Butterfield, Neil Young, Emmylou Harris, Ringo Starr, Ronnie Hawkins, Dr. John, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Muddy Waters, Ronnie Wood, Neil Diamond and more.

His Testimony is due November 11 via UMe and contains material Robertson recorded with Ronnie Hawkins and the Hawks, the Band, Bob Dylan, and during his solo career.
