Toronto-based hardcore outfit Temper Tantrum have released their follow-up to 2021's Baby Blues EP, sharing Puppy Dog Eyes this week via Wild Rose Records.

After performing the material to a sold-out crowd at Toronto's Baby G last month, the band have officially delivered the three-track effort — which was produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Davis Maxwell at School House Studios — ahead of a short run of Ontario tour dates that kicks off tonight at The Killroom in Hamilton. The band have also mapped out additional dates in Toronto and St. Catharines.

The raucous new record is opened by "B.A.D.," a song about "the reality of bigots and gatekeepers making their way into a community and getting them back out again by giving them a taste of their own medicine and excluding them for who they are," according to the band.

Second track "Loose Screw" leans in a more introspective direction, exploring the idea of "someone close to you being influenced by the wrong crowd and choosing to continue on a path of destruction, causing harm and tearing down any foundation of friendship that might have been left."

The record is available now on cassette and digital. You can stream it in full below, where you'll also find the band's upcoming Ontario tour dates.
