SZA has shared a public service announcement for her team, her fans, and the music world: when she's gone, her music goes with her.

The R&B star — who's had a busy year celebrating her 2022 album SOS with a continental tour, and delivering a pair of bright spots on Drake's latest endeavour, For All the Dogs — made her opinion on posthumous albums crystal clear on Instagram this week when she reposted a years-old Frank Ocean quote.

Originally published by The New York Times in 2016, the quote reads, "I'd rather the plane goes down in flames and the drives go down with me than somebody put out a weird posthumous record."

SZA co-signed the sentiment by writing a simple "He gets me" alongside the post.

Posthumous releases have become a popular but controversial way to honour artists after their death. Most recently, DMX fans slammed the late rapper's label for using AI to posthumously share his music, and it's safe to say that SZA is in the same camp.

However, in life, she's still sharing music, and fans are expecting her fourth studio album, reportedly titled LANA, to arrive soon.
