It's been close to a year since folk-favouring Ontario outfit Sunparlour Players delivered their Us Little Devils LP, and the group have announced their return via a slightly smaller offering titled Sunparlour Preserves. While the duo are self-releasing the set and making it available through their website starting September 25, you'll also be able to nab the limited-edition release when they roll through your town on a lengthy Canadian tour.
A press release doesn't provide many EP details, but it does note that it will feature a few new tunes, as well as "one of the band's famous preserve recipes." It sounds potentially delicious on a couple of levels. The physical edition will tackle that food angle by being presented on "an old-fashioned recipe card" featuring the download code and the recipe in question.
Furthermore, you can get a taste of what's to come via the bells-and-banjo-assisted "Shake and Bake for Goodness Sake," which you can download here.
As for those dates, the one-sheet notes that the band's upcoming dates mark the group's first cross-Canada trip in three years. It might not be too accurate considering the dates, spread between September and December, don't head any further east than Quebec, but you can check out the group's reasonably full itinerary down below.
