S.T.R.E.E.T.S. Invaders From Gnars

Originally released in 2007, to little fanfare, third S.T.R.E.E.T.S. effort Invaders From Gnars receives the royal treatment here: an update in gatefold packaging, mastering and bonus songs. It's much deserved. After listening to the crossover-influenced fury of tunes such as "Keep The Dream Alive," "Children" and "Blackout," one realizes that these East Vancouver hooligans were actually onto something before most of us had pulled out our old D.R.I. and Suicidal Tendencies shirts. This blazing collection of thrash punk is so vicious and volatile, even with some of its oddball twists, that it rivals the work done by current heroes such as Municipal Waste and Toxic Holocaust. While it's probable that we won't hear any more from the band with too much punctuation in their name due to their moving on to more renowned acts such as Bison B.C. and Pride Tiger (where you can still hear S.T.R.E.E.T.S.'s essence), at least this reissue strives to give some credit where it's entirely due. Take the hint. (Riot Style)
