With each release, Stray From the Path's affinity for Rage Against the Machine grows more apparent, and on Anonymous, it spills over into the lyrics. The album starts out with the line, "F-E-A, are you listening?" The "are" has a dual purpose, completing the spelling of "fear." However, it might also confuse listeners, curious as to what "F.E.A." stands for. Unfortunately, this isn't the only perplexing part of Anonymous, as the group attempt to meld their alternative hardcore sound with a forced Rage one. While the two do occasionally coalesce in a successful merger, most of the album's triumphs come when Stray From the Path keep the energy high, as on previous outings. Anonymous may be a platform from which Stray From the Path can preach their politics, but it's also a plateau for their sound.
