Although the Strokes have recently claimed a fondness for Starflyer 59, the bluesy antipodeans continue to linger under the international radar, content to maintain a relatively strong following at home. Hard to believe, since the bands managed nine LPs and a slew of EPs in their 11 years of existence. They continue this efficiency on new full-length, I am the Portuguese Blues, producing ten tracks in just over 27 minutes. Sounding like a far sexier Sloan, one would believe that the current wave of Aussie revivalists took their cues from the capable trio, unfortunately they sound just as familiar by now, rehashing trite riffs and rocknroll sentiment on "Teens in Love and "No Revolution. Nope, no revolution here.
