Earlier this year, the proggy post-hardcore Vancouverites of SSRIs reinvented themselves as Sprïng. Now, they've announce their debut album under the new name, revealing that Celebrations is due out on March 4.

Singer/guitarist/pianist Jo Hirabayashi engineered the self-produced record at the band's home studio in their shared East Vancouver house. Drummer Kevin Romain said in a statement, "Musicians look nostalgically back on bands like the Beatles, who got to hang around in a studio for months at a time, writing and recording music, having fun and experimenting with the medium — creating music that could only be made with unhurried access to a recording studio. We did that with this album; we spent days at a time recording overdubs of tambourines and things and trying out unorthodox recording techniques."

A press release adds, "Celebrations explores a lush and dynamic landscape, traversing sonic territory from warm, delicate finger-picked passages to vast, doomy riffage."

The tracklist is below. Scroll past that to stream the intricate psych-folk number "Follow." Note that previously unveiled single "Yer Chimurenga" doesn't appear here.

Sprïng will perform at Vancouver's Rickshaw Theatre on March 7 for their album release show. They will then tour across Western Canada later that month, although the dates have yet to be announced.
