You can tell this band has their own studio. These songs have the feel of people who can spend as much time as they want recording and manipulating sound. The CD as a whole is very evocative of early Camper Van Beethoven, minus the violin and Klezmer tunes. Despite the dabbling in genres, I would call this offering "psychedelic," liberally peppered with surf and pop. My only beef with this disc is that the vocals are hard to understand, definitely mixed with the music, not on top, though obviously this was the desired effect. This hints at an intriguing recording career.
