Belgian dance crew and remix gurus Soulwax have announced a fresh string of North American tour dates. This October, the much-hailed collective will adopt a tight touring scheduling packing in eight show in nine days hitting up several U.S. cities, as well as Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.
All shows will be under the Soulwax moniker, not 2ManyDJs, meaning the Dewaele brothers and company will be in full-band mode rather than simply standing behind the decks. To see what kind of insanity this makes for live, you can check it out here. (Warning: if you are prone to seizures, this might not be a good idea.)
In related Soulwax news, as we previously reported, the band were recently the subject of a new documentary titled Part of the Weekend Never Dies. The film was directed by Saam Farahmand and documented the bands recent tour, with the camera following them around Europe, Japan, North America, Latin America and Australia. In the flick, there are also several cameos by Soulwax friends such as James Murphy, Justice, Busy P, So-Me, Peaches and Klaxons, as well as a bunch of behind-the-scenes goodies.
Part of the Weekend Never Dies premiered in theatres earlier this year and is now set for a DVD/CD release on September 9. You can pre-order the package here via Soulwaxs MySpace page, but be warned: the DVD seems to be only in PAL format, so unless you have a multi-region DVD player, it may not work out for you. But, hey, you can still see them live.
Here are Soulwaxs North American 2008 tour dates:
10/24 New York, NY - Irving Plaza
10/25 Toronto, ON - Opera House
10/26 Chicago, IL - Double Door
